Gaël SILLÈRE

Lives and works between Montpellier, (France) and Mexico
After studying at the Ecole des Beaux-arts de Sète and the Institut Supérieur des Arts de Toulouse (ISdaT) where he obtained his DNAP in 2015, Gaël Sillère joined the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Photographie (ENSP) d’Arles from which he graduated with honours in 2019. His work takes the form of images, videos, performances but also objects. Upstream, there is the drawing, preparing each plastic intervention.
Gaël Sillère draws from the immense production of mass culture to imagine actions of an absurd and poetic nature. The standard spaces, the discount, the hyper-processed food or the objects produced in industrial quantities are the territories where his work unfolds. Attached to the forms of narration, he tries to make micro fictions happen in these uniform and smooth spaces.
