Marine PISTIEN
Born in 1992, Marine Pistien graduated in 2021 from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie. She lives and works between Paris and Arles. Through a work of directing, she questions our relationship to vision, time and space. She is particularly interested in the feeling of vertigo, a notion that she considers as a fascination of the void, between anguish and ecstasy. She seeks to reveal the infamy between these two emotions, that which is barely perceptible or locatable. Her pieces tend to imitate the real while instilling a shift. Starting from sensory experiences related to the body and space, her reflections are deployed through photographic objects, performances and video installations. The exhibition space is envisaged as a mental space, between dream and reality, where the viewer is led to wander and let go.
In her current pieces, Marine pursues a work of staging by exploring the idea of imbalance and fall.
