Jean MARQUES
Born in Tarbes in 1996, I live mainly in Arles. I was first trained technically in
photography and lab work before entering the ENSP in 2017.
Most of my work consists of photographing the places where I live, where morning and evening are as much an event as the other hours that pass.
For several years I have been building up a body of work that deals with simple and natural things; from a house isolated on family land in central Portugal, I observe and traverse the seasons.
My works are the components of a meditative adventure that manifests a positioning and a sincere distance among things. The clarity of the world being for me not so obvious, I would be tempted to say that this is what makes it profoundly beautiful and what makes me photograph it.
